To vote for any party connected to Farargo is to vote in support of a man perfectly willing to take the generous salary of an MEP plus the extremely generous expenses who cannot be bothered to do the job of representing those that elected him.
His latest refusal to answer any of the questions put to him about his values and previous statements reveals a man, like too many others in positions of power, who is motivated by a longing for the limelight. Best mates with Trump; what does that tell us? And now the polls not only tell us that this demagogue’s party shall outperform the Tories in the European elections but also kick them in the teeth were we to have a general election.
Cameron was prompted to hold a referendum because not only did he wish to reinforce his control of the Tories but because he wanted to see off a UKIP led by Farage.
I have often asked what might be the title of Cameron’s long delayed book. Perhaps it could be, “How I destroyed the Tory Party”. Remember that when asked why he wanted to be prime minister he replied, “I think I would be rather good at it”.
Callaghan did not actually say, “Crisis, what crisis?” That was constructed by a headline composer. Nevertheless, it appropriately sums up the mindset of too many of our people of power during the last three years.
I think I understand the frustration of voters but actually our real crisis is that under pressure too many people prefer not to think, not to research, not to question but instead to fall into the arms of a demagogue such as Mr. F. He is a charlatan, not a politician in any way shape or form.
His appeal is to prejudice. If accused of some sort of intellectual political snobbery making this point I shall take it on the chin but shall punch back. Our real crisis has been caused by national political illiteracy.
Our politicians have for too long peddled bullshit when they ought to have engaged with our grey cells. They have not wanted us to understand the E.U. or even our own parliament.
They do not want us to know about how we are ripped off by international corporations paying no tax. They do not want us to bother our heads about the money we make from the killing of innocents in Gaza and Yemen.
Are we so thick that we cannot understand reality? They hope so! And our media collaborates with them in the process of hiding humanity from us while pretending that inhumanity is ok.
The shit of inhumanity is painted to look like butter. End of this rant.
