As a qualified schoolteacher I ought never to use words like ‘thick’. Unprofessional! But then I look at our politicians and so many words like that come to my lips. Ignorance I understand, but our rulers choose to be ignorant. Facts and reasoned arguments bring them out in a rash. They don’t want to know anything that upsets them.
The consequences when these people close the tap on knowledge in case it washes away their prejudices, those consequences, can be extremely harmful. Today such harm includes war. And maybe not a little one.
If you want to get on well with these people it is best to be powerful yourself. Under Corbyn the Labour Party was the biggest in Europe, supported by small donations from lots of members. Under Starmer the Party has shrunk and now depends upon the donations of the rich. The Starmer Party is now an alliance of the rich and powerful and those people oppose facts and thoughts that break the barriers they have erected so that society retains the shape they prefer. We must think the way they wish us to think. Don’t ask awkward questions.
I am still trying to make sense of all those Taylors’ Dummies at the Conference in Liverpool last Monday, young men in charcoal grey suits, white shirts and neat ties. Were they Starmer traffic wardens making sure that no-one with unwelcome knowledge or the ability to make challenging points could park on his lawn? I have never seen anything like them before at any kind of party conference. I felt uncomfortable.
And now we are facing what could be a war between humanity and inhumanity. In case there are any traffic wardens reading this I shall use a nickname. For me Bibi is promoting inhumanity, even against the people he is supposed to represent. Starmer and Sunak have decided to take his side. So has that idiot in the EU.
Bibi’s father was a dedicated Zionist. Conceiving him he just might have been planting the seed of Zionism’s destruction.
Starmer and Sunak want us to think that they are supporting Jews. I think they are doing the opposite. I broadly oppose Israel, but to see Israelis killed and hurt to serve an ego? NO!
Though the thugs in the settlements don’t get my sympathy. Nor the lethal loonies in the Cabinet.
Hamas does not control worldwide media outlets. We hear little from them. We mostly receive approved news. Going back some years to Jeremy Bowen reporting on the death of Sharon he said he was ‘controversial’. He was actually an inhuman piece of…..are the traffic wardens watching?…….excrement. Gosh, did I get away with that word?
What would survivors of Sabra and Shatila have said about Sharon had the BBC given them the opportunity to speak?
Approved news uses code language. When the BBC uses the word ‘militant’ we are expected to guess that they mean ‘terrorist’.
Yes, I am getting lost in my emotions.
My family went through two World Wars and lots of smaller ones. Nobody really won. Right now I am frightened: frightened by the chosen stupidity of our rulers.
And I am frightened of people, like me, being censored.
