CUTTING up his Labour Party membership card was just the beginning for a Suffolk Labour ex-councillor who has announced he’ll be standing as an Independent candidate in May’s county council elections – against all-comers!

Corbyn-stalwart, Luke Cresswell, has announced his election plans and already has a team of supporters, mainly former Labour members, in place.
Cresswell, a teacher, was never welcomed in the right-dominated CLP officers despite his enthusiasm and hard work.
The CLP executive flew into a panic when members showed support for his attempt to be selected as the party’s official Prospective Parliamentary Candidate for the 2019 general election.
Eastern Regional Labour Party officials immediately stepped in and barred Cresswell from the selection procedure on the grounds that although he had been fully cleared of bogus anti-semitism accusations years before, made because of his open support for Palestinian rights, the false accusations had tarred him.
The South Suffolk CLP, much like South West Norfolk CLP, is said to be in a state of near collapse as Starmer’s poisonous regime drives socialists to resign and fall to the wayside.
Luke said: “I’m really excited to be standing as an independent and look forward to challenging academisation of our schools, outsourcing and privatisation of public services and to be unashamedly socialist.
“I will be going all out to win Great Cornard- a seat the Conservatives and Labour are looking to win.”
