Dear Sir Keir
It would seem as though you have no perception of the injury you have caused to the members and former members of the Labour Party admitting and apologising for the then leadership of the Party supposedly not dealing with complaints of antisemitism by these seven former staffer and others and apologising to the BBC Panorama correspondent for the Party suggesting he was biased in presentation.
What you have done is two fold: firstly you have insulted each individual member, and former members who have resigned because of your tepid performance as leader, of the Party, including Jews, of being anti-Semitic by these people to suggest the Party is root and branch antisemitic.
I personally feel accused and insulted.
Secondly, you may have acted within the rules of the Party, but not in the spirit of a democratic party. I would be grateful If you would explain on what democratic basis did you apologise and award members’ Party funds to these people.
You certainly do not represent me and many of my present and former colleagues in this matter.
There is another disgraceful aspect to all of this.
Members who have been withdrawn from posts within the Party (MPs, councillors et cetera) or who have been suspended or expelled have been on the basis of antisemitism due to their criticism of the government of Netanyahu and the illegal invasion of Palestine.
The so called ‘leaked report’, which seems to have been swept under the carpet, has shown that such accusations were political actions intended to undermine the leadership of Mr. Corbyn and were bogus.
I have to tell you that that looks highly sinister and of such depravity , if it were true, that would shame even Niccolo Machiavelli.
Such a political action would mean that some people, perhaps in your Shallow Cabinet, are prepared to suppress criticism of an apartheid regime and let Palestinians be murdered, dispossessed, have their livelihoods destroyed in order to maintain their control of the Party and their agenda for which many have suggested they will be amply rewarded by external parties.
I myself will remain loyal to the Party. By loyal, I mean I will do all I can to maintain democratic socialism and do everything I can to rid the Party of this poison. You do not have my confidence. In fact, I wonder for whom you represent?
Respectfully.
