Starmer’s inquiry into Formby’s official report intended to aid the Equality and Human Rights Commission inquiry into anti-semitism – has been postponed for a second time.
Formby’s findings about 5th columnist sabotage of Labour’s 2017 general election campaign was so shocking and damning of highly paid Head Office party and regional staff, that it had been shelved, never to see the light of day.
But someone leaked it and it is now known as the Leaked Report.
Starmer was so angry – that it had been leaked – that he set up an inquiry, headed by barrister Martin Forde, to mainly finger the leaker behind a smokescreen of (in)validating the shock revelations.
Forde was supposed to produce the goods by mid-summer. It did not but promised to get the relatively simple job (its mainly WhatsApp messages) by the end of 2020.
The end is nigh and this month the Ford Report website has posted a message saying it will not be hitting its latest deadline but now expects to do so by early 2021, just about one year after it was set up.
Whether it ever reports it has achieved Starmer’s main aim, stifling the truth about the right wing, anti-Corbyn treacherous behaviour.
What was at the time red-hot damning accusations of the most disgraceful activities, by named staff, their party within a party and virulent hostility to left MPs and the collaboration by named MPs, is now ancient history, dirty water under the bridge.
Not one of the accused was ever sanctioned, disciplined or prosecuted for breach of their employment contracts, far from it. Just to help them float on by Starmer paid off their pathetic legal action for ‘breach of privacy’ (reading their messages) with a £600,000 pay day even though solicitors said the party would win the case.
Thinking back to how quickly he sacked Jennie Formby as general secretary, even though he did not replace her with his first choice – one of the named 5th columnist saboteurs! – perhaps Jennie was the secret leaker!
If so, it was the only good deed she ever did for the left.
