Green Party leadership contender Shahrar Ali has slammed the 2019 election pact with the LibDems as “disasterous”.
Mr Ali, the party’s home affairs spokesman, said the alliance “was an absolute disaster for us.”
“What we lost was credibility as a political party that does politics differently. There are times to compromise but this was a compromise too far,” he said.
The Greens made the pact to avoid splitting support from people opposed to Brexit, leaving the European Union.

Though the party’s share increased to 2.7 per cent they still only have the same one MP, Caroline Lucas representing Brighton Pavilion.
In Brighton the Greens have once again regained control of the city council after the Labour group leader suddenly stepped down.
