So its Sir Kier Hardly-Hardy to lead the Labour Party. To what can we look forward? He cannot (who could?) be unaware that the more people listened as Corbyn expressed his values the more joined the party. It is wrong to stick labels such as ‘hard left’ or ‘extreme socialist’ upon those values. They were ordinary decent human values. Talk to a Tory about those values and they will agree with them all; until, that is, you mention that they are Corbyn’s values.
I have just seen a photograph of Sir Kier in a suit and white shirt BUT without a tie. “Look at me, I’m one of the lads” he seems to be saying. Perhaps he has detected the current pro Corbyn surge.
He has a reputation as a lawyer for defending human rights. So did Cherie Booth. What exactly are human rights? How far do they extend? What price would you place upon the rights of poor people living in the same country as ultra rich people? That could be changed or might it cause too much social disturbance if we tried?
My test of approval for a Labour leader is simple. If Blair is smiling about the choice, euch! If he is frowning, hooray!
Gosh, there are times when this politics stuff is so easy.
Are you for the rich or the poor?
