Sir Alan Duncan, one time deputy Foreign Secretary and the MP an Israel Embassy official was videoed as on his list of politicians to “take down”, has revealed that the Conservative Friends of Israel stopped him being made Minister for the Middle East because of his Palestinian sympathies.
Israel’s man in London, Shai Mosat, was secretly filmed plotting against the Tory MP and others. The expose, called The Lobby, was shown on Al Jazeera and can be found on YouTube.
Sir Alan had spoken out in favour of Palestinian rights and denounced Israeli policy on its illegal settlements. He has argued that Israel’s policies in the Middle East are indefensible and has likened Israel to apartheid South Africa.
Lord Polak CFI chair Lord Pickles
In his book In the thick of it, he claims that when Theresa May considered him for the Middle East job the CFI “are going ballistic” He accused top CFI members Lord Pickles and Lord Polak of “disgusting” interference in lobbying against his promotion.
In another entry he says he was “ashamed” of the government for allowing visiting Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu to “peddle pro-settlement propaganda”.
He described the Israeli wall around its illegal settlements as a “land grab” and accused them of stealing water from Palestinian communities.
