Saturday in Manchester and a motley crew of hate filled Fascists get off at Picadilly station and try to march.
The anti Fascists have assembled in two groups. Around two thousand in Sackville gardens and another thousand or so in Piccadilly Gardens.

In Sackville Gardens amongst the thousand protesting against Fascism is a group of football supporters from various teams.

The police organise to kettle the Sackville Gardens group. I skirt round the police and head for Picadilly just as Jeremy Corbyn finishes speaking.
There are also speeches from trade unionists, and even a Labour councillor. Eventually we move out as the far right move down from Piccadilly Station. The two groups confront each other either side of a police line. There are maybe two hundred of the far right Britain first mob and they look scared.

The Britain first group are moved down Portland street as we head for St Peters Square.

We stay in the Square singing drumming and dancing. The rain starts and Manchester is once again Fascist free.
