A shock in St Peter’s Square in Manchester as about 250 stop the war protesters were confronted by about a 100 Israeli, American and Shah of Iran supporters. There were chants of, U, U, USA as an American flag flew.
The ppolice kept the right wingers back as they surged forward with aggressive intent on causing trouble. Sadly one over large copper took his power too seriously in violently pushing stop the war protesters who had done nothing.
The night fizzled into the larger numbers and drummers of stop the war and CND as against the more expensive speakers brought by the CIA people. Americans, Israeli’s and Fascist Monarchy together. Almost a replay of the 1930’s.
