Ha’aretz has a long article about religion being “the hottest trend in Israel”.
Particularly among young people.
Maybe ‘religiosity’ should be the word.
My opinion is that if what the article says is true we are looking at lethal lunacy. How can you negotiate with people who are convinced that killing and being killed brings them closer to some God?
Winning a fight is good, but so, we are told, is losing one. Heaven beckons either way.
You have secular social values? To these people they mean nothing. No, we are not looking at serious students of religion which is a rather time consuming business; we are looking at people who only swallow and regurgitate the headline stuff about a God.

So here we are trying to be rational about the actions of Isreal; the craftiness of Netanyahu; the extreme racism of certain members of his government; while all the time an increasing number of young people have simplified life so that kill or be killed you will go to Heaven.
What point are embassies, treaties and diplomats?
None at all.
1986 during a session of the US Senate Biden proclaimed that Israel was “the best $3bn investment” the US had made, and that it would have to “invent an Israel to protect US interests in the region” if Israel didn’t exist.
America, you have invested in lunacy, lethal lunacy.
