Concrete actions and steps are required to stop the humiliation, persecution and occupation of the Palestinian people. Sadly the world allows the current situation to go on in the Middle East. A peaceful two state solution of Palestine and Israel with both states living safely without any threat of violence was always out of the question when the more powerful side clearly didn’t believe in it.
It is so odd we can negotiate with North Korea, place sanctions on Myanmar, send forces to Ukraine, intervene in Syria, put pressure on China on its human rights over Uighur Muslims and democracy in Hong Kong but we can’t solve the issue facing the Palestinians and Israelis.
How can we have a situation where the Palestinian people are living under occupation for so many years with no end in sight of the occupation ending? How can we allow forced evictions of Palestinians from their land and properties and further erosion of Palestinian land to make way for yet more illegal settlements?
Either the world doesn’t want to help the Palestinian people or the United Nations is nothing but a talking shop…
The UN sends Peace Keepers to Africa and many other places but apparently not to Israel and the Occupied Palestinian people, and the world lets this drag on.
Thank you Imran Hussain MP, for raising your voice in support of the oppressed occupied and persecuted people of Palestine.

The Word has an admirable record of supporting Palestinian’s against their Israeli military occupiers so which candidate does it recommend its readers in the Batley and Spen Yorkshire constituency should support at the July 1 byelection? Presumably not ‘proud to be a Zionist’ Keith Starmer and his instant Labour Party member and candidate, so who?
