My boyfriend has left me to go and stay with friends in the country. He says he has been ill and is self-isolating but I am worried he is two timing me. I met him and had an affair with him when he was married so I know just how good he is at lying. I am also a few months pregnant and really worry that he will not help care for our child. He already has 17 children by 9 different partners. What do I do?

Carrie from London
Well Carrie he certainly has lived a life hasn’t he. But the important thing to remember is people can change and that’s what you must focus on, changing him. Remind him of why you are so different from all other previous partners, always have immaculate hair and makeup, take an interest in his work, even if it’s on Skype talking is SO important. Alternatively adopt a Dog to keep you company and sting the bastard for child maintenance. The worst he can do is take out a court injunction so the press aren’t allowed to acknowledge you or your child actually exist.
A few years ago we joined a self-help club for people who wanted to find love for each other. We joined because we really liked the man that was running it. Sadly, this man left after being bullied by some other members. They kept taking away his sweets until he had none left. The new man in charge of the club wants to change the rules so I’s no longer a club for finding love but a club for finding money. We have already been told to leave but what advice would you give our friends?
Chris from Derby and Jackie from Kent.
So, Chris and Jackie! Nobody wants to outstay their welcome do they, was it something you said? Have you tried talking with those people who have taken offense. Most organisations have some form of conflict resolution process where affected people have a chance to have their say and, often a third party will ensure a fair hearing. If this Organisation you are in affords certain members preferential treatment to an inner clique over other members, it just sounds more like the kind of place that suits the career-minded over those seeking a shared benefit. I would suggest you set up another club with the same aims and only accept members with self effacing, benevolent motives. Also consider a dirty protest, smearing ‘Smash the State’ in excrement on the Head Office wall.
I am in a really badly paid job that is also very dangerous. I have asked my boss for a pay rise but he told me “now is not the time.” I feel this is wrong because my boss and his friends all gave themselves pay rises. Should I go on strike? If I do it will hurt a lot of people but if I don’t then I will not be able to afford to live?
Neville Horace Stevens
Mr N.H.Stevens, this old chestnut comes up time after time. Have you heard the phrase ‘Divide and Conquer’? Well unfortunately that’s happened to you and your colleagues, with your rights being eroded by successive governments. As you are dedicated, caring and brave workers your employers can constantly cut costs, including your wages in order to ultimately privatise and generate profits for Captains of industry like Richard Branson. Now striking in a busy period might go down well countries such as France and Spain, it’s just not British, we are far too polite to partake in sedition and unpatriotic mass meetings. And that’s without the Covid-19 lockdown. Just be grateful you are drawing a wage and hope your bosses remember all this when things get back to normal.
I saw a crime being committed so I reported it. Now a lot of bad people want to kill me. Can someone please help me?
Yours
Julian
Well it sounds like you are dealing with an International Organised Crime Syndicate there. Obviously the first port of call in these circumstances would be the Police, they protect scores of guilty Gangsters and Murders, even providing new identities etc. Of course in some countries the Police and even Governments are corrupt and in cahoots with the Crime Syndicates. Let’s hope you are not living in a country like that, because frankly speaking you would be buggered.
